Once a white vase holding a single red rose fell and broke in such perfect pieces that I knew I must photograph it. I was called away in mid-project and hurried back to get that perfect shot which had eluded me thus far. I was greeted by my housekeeper who, beaming proudly, announced that she had glued my vase back together. Is this not the perfect metaphor for art?
